If your corneas are too thin to do LASIK safely, I usually recommend EVO ICL. It is not a consolation prize.
LASIK works by removing a small amount of corneal tissue to reshape the surface. If your cornea is on the thinner side, there isn’t enough tissue to do that safely. EVO ICL takes a completely different approach. It never touches the cornea. Instead, I place a soft, biocompatible lens inside your eye, just in front of your natural lens. It stays there long term, and because nothing is removed, the procedure is reversible: the lens can be taken out if your needs ever change.
EVO ICL tends to be an excellent fit for stronger prescriptions and for people prone to dry eye. If LASIK isn’t an option for you, this is often the better choice anyway.
